You’re Not Waiting for Freedom

You’re learning to live inside it

There’s a quiet tension I’ve been sitting with lately.

The kind that doesn’t feel dramatic…
but still shapes how you move through your day.

It’s that subtle sense that something is still missing.
That things aren’t quite where they should be yet.

That maybe—when everything settles, grows, or clears up
then you’ll finally feel at peace.

But what if that’s not actually how freedom works?

The Lie We Carry Without Realizing It

So many of us are living like this:

  • waiting for clarity before we rest

  • waiting for growth before we feel confident

  • waiting for everything to “work” before we feel free

But here’s what I’ve been realizing—both in Scripture and in the garden:

Freedom doesn’t come from everything working.

Because if it did…
we’d never actually experience it.

What the Garden Keeps Teaching Me

Right now, my garden is a mix of things:

Some plants are strong and reaching.
Others haven’t moved in weeks.

It’s uneven.
Unfinished.
Still in process.

And yet… it’s alive.

That’s the part that keeps stopping me.

Because I’m realizing how often I interpret:

  • slow growth as failure

  • inconsistency as something being wrong

  • uncertainty as something needing to be fixed

When really…

this is just what living things look like.

The Shift That Changes Everything

Here’s the truth that’s been settling deeper in me:

Jesus didn’t come to give us a future version of freedom.
He came so we could live inside it now.

Not when everything is growing.
Not when everything is clear.

Now.

In the middle of:

  • unfinished situations

  • uneven growth

  • things that feel stalled right next to things that are thriving

Freedom looks like this:

  • You’re no longer owned by outcomes

  • You don’t panic when something isn’t moving

  • You don’t need everything to validate where you are

You can be present…
without needing everything to change first.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

Because if we don’t understand this…

We spend our lives:

  • striving for a version of peace that’s always just out of reach

  • constantly evaluating whether we’re “doing it right”

  • missing the quiet, steady work God is already doing

And the truth is?

You may already be standing inside:

  • answered prayers

  • healing that came slowly

  • grace that has become so normal you don’t even notice it anymore

A Gentle Question to Sit With

Instead of asking:

“Why isn’t this working yet?”

Try asking:

“Where am I still waiting for something I’ve already been given?”

That question alone…
can begin to shift everything.

If You Feel Stuck Between Striving and Peace…

If this resonates with you—
that tension between wanting to grow but also feeling tired of striving…

This is exactly why I created Rooted Reset.

It’s not about doing more.

It’s about learning how to:

  • slow down without guilt

  • recognize what God is already doing

  • live with intention instead of reaction

  • tend your life (and your soul) in a way that actually feels sustainable

We begin again in April, and you’re invited.

You are not behind.

You are not waiting for freedom.

You are learning—slowly, gently—
how to live inside what has already been given.
